Improving my Health
based on my Genome

April 13, 2022 - 2PM CET (KSA: 3PM – UAE: 4PM)

Today’s healthcare strategy of “treating the sick”, is devaluing human beings’ most precious asset “quality lifetime” due to a lack of insights, tangibility, and inadequate action.

During this Webinar, Dr. Gabriela Oprea who has extensive expertise in analysis and interpretation of genomic data acting as Chief Data Officer at Arcensus, will share her experience and help you understand the following:

  1.    How shall we switch from Treating to Preventing the disease?
  2.    What factors influence the decision to take preventive genomic testing?
  3.    Why is it important to get tested when you “feel” healthy?
  4.    How to break “bad news” to patients and family members?
  5.    How to initiate preventive measures against disease?
  6.    How does Arcensus contribute to the mindset change in health care to          encourage preventive medicine based on genomic insights?

Gabriela holds a PhD in Natural Science from the University of Cologne, Germany and has been an active researcher in Human Genetics for almost 15 years. Her discovery and characterisation of the first protective modifier of autosomal recessive spinal muscular atrophy gained her several awards. She is a highly motivated and experienced scientist in the analysis, interpretation and utilisation of genetic information within a clinical context, efficiently turning big data into knowledge-based products. Since May 2021, Gabriela has been acting as a Chief Data Officer at Arcensus, leading the bioinformatics and medical reporting.
